Dr. Sergio Cortes and His Take on the Zika Virus

Published / by WT23

There has been a lot of buzz about the Zika virus. There has been a real healthcare scare for pregnant women since this virus causes babies to be born with small heads. According to sergiocortesoficial website of Dr. Sergio Cortes, the disease is hitting epidemic proportion in Brazil.
On the Dino website Dr. Cortes has stated information about the symptoms of this disease. There is a lot of talk about the Olympics and the 600,000 visitors that are expected to visit Brazil – along with athletes – during this time. Dr. Sergio Cortes appears to help those that are worried about the disease by giving people information on the symptoms and the preventive measures that they can take.

What Sergio Cortes has done is provide information through his blog, but many people will simply follow him on Facebook to get the latest information on his findings. He has become the expert on this subject because he studied it intensely. Many people are fearful of this disease, but Dr. Cortes has stated that the disease doesn’t last very long. He states that the best thing that one can do is stay away from standing water. Anytime people are in a place where mosquitoes have the ability to breed and lay eggs, they are in the wrong place. People need to avoid these types of areas because this is the most common way that patients in Brazil have gotten this disease.

Many people think that the disease is something new. This is not the case. Dr. Sergio Cortes has stated that the Zika virus has been around for more than 70 years. It was something that originated in Africa. It would eventually spread to other places like Asia and India over time. While there is an epidemic in Brazil, there have not been any reports of this disease resurfacing and spreading in the place that it originated in.

There are some concerns in America though because the disease has made it to American soil. It has also been discovered that the disease can be passed through sexual contact. This is something that was unexpected, but the early knowledge of this may help prevent the spread of the disease through this method. Dr. Cortes has a lot of information on his blog about many different topics. Dr. Cortes may be one of the most important information sources in Brazil when it comes to the Zika virus.

Passion And Expression Gives Us A Snapshot Of Jon Urbana

Published / by WT23

Jon Urbana was most famously known by his followers for being an All-American lacrosse player at Villanova University. However, with the emergence of the internet and social media, Urbana’s prowess as an athlete has been morphed into the pixels that help to create an image of the whole man. His life as an athlete has lead to him becoming an entrepreneur. In 2011, Jon Urbana co-founded the Next Level Lacrosse Camp that is located in Colorado. The camp is designed to help high school players refine the skills that will take their game to the next level.

As a man, Jon Urbana tells his Twitter followers that he came to understand that there was more to life than just playing sports. There comes a time when you must find other creative ways to express yourself and release pent up energy.

Jon Urbana found his release and expression through music, photography (his blog), and charitable works. He plays the electric guitar and uses Ableton software to compose and remix songs that he later downloads as tracks for his followers to enjoy. And yet, his photography expresses a different facet of his personality.

There is a clear passion for animals and the outdoors. Fox Carolina summed it up best in their coverage of Urbana’s ARAS fundraiser.

However, whether Jon is sharing the work of another trip or he is the artist himself, each photograph draws the viewer into the scene. Sometimes it’s the way the trees frame a path or how the colors exude off the screen, each photograph speaks to the beauty that Jon finds in almost everything around him while he uses his pilot’s license to pull off some great achievements in the air.

Through his charitable works, Jon funds projects that are not just important to his community, but he recognizes that every community has issues involving water, sustainability, or health that needs to be addressed. So his charity drive for Earth Force uses a 6 step instructional model that combines civic engagement, environmental education, and STEM education to get youth and community members involved with investigating their own local environment.

During the investigation phase they identify the causes of a problem, then work within their communities to solve the problem lawfully. This program by Earth Force is at work in over 60 communities across the United States and Canada.

Securus Technologies Specializes in Humanitarian Technologies

Published / by WT23

Securus Technologies is a forward thinking technology company that has created cutting edge civil and criminal justice computing applications to provide solutions for public safety, investigations, corrections, inmate communication monitoring, and most recently mobile video visitation for inmates. This is honestly such a humane practice and after doing some research on the company I has found their vision to be quite inspiring. Russell Roberts, newly appointed Vice President of Marketing and Strategy for the company says that this type of “video visit” technology helps connect family members and close friends with an efficient, more simple way to visit their loved ones behind bars.

Imagine being locked up and having to be subject to the rigid and difficult processes in order to see your loved ones. I can’t imagine the difficulty for families to communicate under such visitation policies. What this company has made possible is for family and friends to enjoy special moments in life like birthdays, dance recitals, and anniversaries, from practically everywhere on the globe directly from the users Android and/or Apple devices. The mobile app is found on both Google Play™ and in the App Store and I’ve read the specs of the app and what I find unique and extremely valuable about the technology is that it allows the operator the functionality to sync visitation details to calendars and receive specified notifications for impending visits. The app is customizable to serve each user and help them to bring efficiency to visitation.

Besides the new and wonderful aforementioned technology, Securus Technologies also serves over 3,400 public safety, law enforcement offices and corrections facilities across North America. I took the time to visit their website which can be found here: Securus Technologies and have found it to be very informative and useful for potential clients. One great feature of their website is the “Facilities we serve” page. Here you can do a comprehensive search of over 2,200 Correctional Facilities across the United States and Canada that Securus works with. This will allow potential clients to find out if they can use these useful and admirable services. They also have Live Chat, FAQ’s, and other customer service friendly functions to help all interested parties.
